    Last Week in Games

The first prelim game was between $wagrid and Shacklebolts. Despite Shacklebolts missing two shots and despite two failed attempts from $wagrid to catch the Snitch, Shacklebolts managed to outscore their opponent and catch the Snitch for a 90-30 win.

The game between Butterbears and Tyrannosaurus Hex was a dramatic one. Butterbears’ Orca saved them several times with the Luck ability, and T-Hex missed half their shots on hoops and more than half their attempted beats. You wouldn’t guess that this was the team that got into playoffs by beating! In the end, Butterbears caught the Snitch and will progress to the finals.

This Week in Games – Playoffs

Season 14 wraps up with these last two games:

Tyrannosaurus Hex and $wagrid will play for the third time; both teams have won once before against the other. T-Hex has only won one of three previous consolation finals, whereas $wagrid has never made it this far. $wagrid will use the Snowy Owl one last time and Tyrannosaurus Hex will use the King Cobra.

And the final game is between Butterbears and Shacklebolts. Neither team has won a season before, so someone here will be a first-time winner. However, in the last season that each team played, they came second. This will be their first game against each other, and it’ll be Orca (Butterbears) against the Orangutan (Shacklebolts) in terms of animagi.

    Last Week in Games

Saltypuffs Unite and Durmstranglers started the week with a long and uneventful game. Durmstranglers kept throwing themselves at Puff Beater Argus Filch who, believe it or not, kept beating them. In the end, Saltypuffs won their first game of the season 70-60.

Then Eliter Beater took on The Three Boomsticks. Elite Beater kept up their new-found ‘aggressive’ play style and actually managed to make a decent number of beats, saves, and went on to win 60-20.

PatrOWNus and Tyrannosaurus Hex played next. T-Hex stayed consistent with strong beating, and PatrOWNus tried some long-distance goals that didn’t pay off, giving their opponent a chance to pull ahead and eventually win with over 100 points.

Brooms of Doom faced The Three Boomsticks, and despite some devastating gores with the Rhino, Brooms of Doom wouldn’t match the goals and lost 80-30.

Butterbears and Firefawkes were up next. Firefawkes had some pretty bad rolls, meaning the Bears dominated the entire game and won. This was their third win, making them undefeated and securing them a spot in playoffs.

Lastly, Shacklebolts played Tyrannosaurus Hex. It was a pretty quiet game. Both teams took 5 shots, but while one scored thrice, the other missed just as many. In the end, it came down to a winning Snitch catch for Shacklebolts.

    Qualifying Teams

Here are the four S14 playoff teams.

Top Ranked Team: Butterbears. This is their first season back since S7, but they were undefeated in prelims. They’ve never won first place before.

2nd Ranked Team: Shacklebolts. They also went undefeated. This will be their 6th playoff appearance, though they too have never won.

Top Beating Team: Tyrannosaurus Hex. They also ranked third. They’ve won two seasons and have been in 5 of the last 6 playoffs.

Best Use Of Theme: $wagrid. Despite not winning a game all season, good use of the Snowy Owl got them into playoffs for the first time ever.

This Week in Games – Playoffs

For the third time ever, Shacklebolts and $wagrid will play. $wagrid lost both previous games, but now has a Snowy Owl on their side, and Shacklebolts has the Orangutan.

Next, Butterbears will take on Tyrannosaurus Hex, also for the third time ever. Both teams have won once against each other. The Bears have the Orca and T-Hex has the King Cobra.

The consolation game and final game will be scheduled after these.

    Last Week in Games

In their first ever game against each other, $wagrid and Dead Sirius were pretty evenly matched. Both teams scored six times and missed once. In the end, Dead Sirius caught the Snitch and ended the game with a 90-60 score.

Next, Brooms of Doom played Firefawkes, who struggled big time. Firefawkes couldn’t get the quaffle to the nets to even attempt a shot, yet managed to also get tackled 4 times. One goal and a Snitch catch from Brooms Of Doom ended the game 40-0.

In their second game of the week, Dead Sirius faced Butterbears. With a healthy supply of Skele-Gro on their side, Dead Sirius outscored the Bears, but it wasn’t enough. While being down by 20 points, Butterbears managed a Snitch grab on their first attempt and won 60-50.

Thursday’s game was between Shacklebolts and Saltypuffs Unite. With Saltypuffs not even managing a goal attempt, it was a rather boring game except for one back-and-forth Beater Bat battle that used 8 bats total (4 on each side). Shacklebolts ended up winning the game 40-0.

And closing out the week was Eliter Beater and $wagrid. This was $wagrid’s last prelim game, but Eliter Beater played surprisingly aggressively, so they only managed to score once. Eliter Beater won 70-10, which is the largest point differential so far this season.

    This Week in Games

Saltypuffs Unite and Durmstranglers start off the week. This will be the second time they’ve played, with the first time being in S5 with the Puffs losing. This is the last prelim game for both teams. Durmstranglers are looking for a second win and Saltypuffs Unite are looking to end their 8-game losing streak. It’s Orca (Puffs) versus Orangutan (Durmstranglers).

Rescheduled from last week, The Three Boomsticks will face Eliter Beater. Eliter Beater has won in both games these two have played together. Boomsticks have the Orca and Eliter Beater have the Snowy Owl.

PatrOWNus and Tyrannosaurus Hex are both undefeated this season and will be playing on Wednesday for the 6th time. PatrOWNus has the Dragonfly and T-Hex has the King Cobra animagus. Fun fact: there are no other teams with either of these two animagi.

Thursday sees Brooms of Doom playing against The Three Boomsticks for the 3rd time, but will they lose for the third time? Brooms of Doom has the Rhino and Boomsticks have the Orca.

Butterbears and Firefawkes play next for the first time. The Bears are also undefeated this season and will be using the Orca, whereas Firefawkes is looking for their second win with the Snowy Owl on their side.

And lastly, though technically not this week but it’s the only prelim game left, Tyrannosaurus Hex and Shacklebolts will play. They’ve played twice before and T-Hex won both (one of those was the infamous 4 hour game). T-Hex has the King Cobra and Shacklebolts has the Orangutan.

    Last Week in Games

Saltypuffs and Butterbears started the week claiming a lot of spaces via passing (though they were all straight up and down the field for some reason). And with both teams using Luck from the animagus, there were very few criticals. It was a close game, but Butterbears caught the Snitch to win 100-60.

Next, Durmstranglers got their first win via forfeit. The game was supposed to be against Dead Sirius. Durmstranglers ended up playing for stats and missed all 6 of their attempted beats.

On Tuesday, Firefawkes played their first game with new management against Eliter Beater. Firefawkes didn’t miss a single shot, and Eliter Beater couldn’t quite keep up. The “defensive” team Eliter Beater ended up catching the Snitch anyway and lost 60-50.

PatrOWNus took on $wagrid next. Both teams missed a few shots, and $wagrid’s bad luck maintained, as even with Luck, there were back-to-back 1’s rolled. PatrOWNus won 80-30.

Tyrannosaurus Hex faced The Three Boomsticks on Thursday. T-Hex came out swinging with Cuthbert Binns (a ghost) as a Beater, averaging almost 1 beat per round and really damaging Three Boomsticks’ scoring attempts. Tyrannosaurus Hex won 70-20.

And lastly, Brooms of Doom took on Shacklebolts and had some fun with their Rhino’s Gore. However, Shacklebolts smartly made their Orangutan close friends with Brooms of Doom’s Keeper. In the end, Shacklebolts eventually caught the Snitch and won.

    This Week in Games

For the first time ever, Dead Sirius and $wagrid will play. Dead Sirius has the Orangutan and $wagrid has the Snowy Owl.

Firefawkes and Brooms of Doom will also play for the first time. Brooms of Doom has the Rhino animagus and their opposition has the Snowy Owl.

Butterbears and Dead Sirius haven’t faced since the S7 finals where Dead Sirius won by over 50 points. Butterbears have the Orca and Dead Sirius has the other Orangutan.

For the 9th time, Shacklebolts and Saltypuffs Unite will play. These two teams have played each other the most of any two teams, but Shacklebolts has a 63% win rate. Puffs have an Orca and Shacklebolts have an Orangutan.

And the week will end with Eliter Beater and $wagrid, both of whom want their first win (unless of course $wagrid wins on Monday). These teams have played two times before, with each team winning once, and it’ll be a Snowy Owl for both teams.

    Team Overview

The season 14 draft took place last week. Here’s a rundown on the rosters:

    • Leading in Strength is $wagrid and the team with the lowest Strength is Dead Sirius
    • Leading in Accuracy is Saltypuffs, with the least Accurate being Brooms of Doom
    • The most Agile team is Brooms of Doom and PatrOWNus with the least Agile being Tyrannosaurus Hex
    • The team with the most Speed is tied between Dead Sirius, Eliter Beater, and Shacklebolts, and the least Speedy team is The Three Boomsticks

    Last Week in Games

With a late in the week draft, there was only one game, and that was between PatrOWNus and Durmstranglers. PatrOWNus’ Bem was back to missing shots, while Durmstranglers’ Winky had a great game scoring all 8 of her team’s goals and only missing once. However, PatrOWNus managed to come back from being down three goals to win 100-80.

    This Week in Games

The week will start with Saltypuffs Unite against Butterbears, who are back for the first time in nearly a year. And for the first time ever, Saltypuffs Unite is a solo team. These two teams have only played once way back in S2, where the Puffs failed to score all game. Both teams will be using the Orca animagus.

Next, Dead Sirius and Durmstranglers will play. This is their 6th game against each other. Both teams will be using the Orangutan animagus.

Firefawkes and Eliter Beater play on Tuesday. This will be Eliter Beater’s first game back after a season off, and Firefawkes’ first ever game under new management. Both teams will be using the Snowy Owl animagus.

$wagrid and PatrOWNus play next. This will be their second time facing each other. The first time, PatrOWNus lost despite not allowing any goals in their hoops. $wagrid has the Snowy Owl animagus and PatrOWNus has the Dragonfly.

Tyrannosaurus Hex faces The Three Boomsticks next for the 6th time. Three Boomsticks have a 60% win rate against T-Hex. The King Cobra is Tyrannosaurus Hex’s animagus and the Orca is The Three Boomsticks’.

And lastly, Brooms of Doom will face Shacklebolts. They’ve played 3 times before, and Brooms of Doom have won 2 of them, but these two haven’t faced since S10. Brooms of Doom has the Rhino animagus and Shacklebolts will use the Orangutan.
